Hi Louis,

thanks for the infos. That sounds logicial that we can run more highspeed with 18-47 but less acceleration.

I think 150-160 kmh are ok for those little durable 2 stroker.

Do you know “Geardata” ? It ist a totally free  program where you can calculate the gear ratio …

 http://www.rd350lc.d.../downloads.html

There can you find  some “.GED”-files,  where you can load the parameters for the DL R….by the way, it ist a really good forum for all 2 stroke yamaha´s.

Regards

Yes only the problem ist our weight.

Think the 18-47 ist to heavily geared for us it wont pull us to the 170KMH

Think those values in the magazines are measured on a dyno (that makes more sense) because the measured values are to precise for measuring on the road.
On a dyno you can read exactly the speeds and RPMs (with in .00's) etc

But on the street we need to make a compromise regarding Wight and length.

Hello TZR enthusiasts,

I have started my TZR125 Trackbike project.

tzr125-track-1.jpg

http://www.tzr3ma.co...track-bike.html

I'm using most parts from my first trackbike project as it never came completely ready it was standing for many years at the back off my workshop.

Because I know what fits the TZR frame I only need a TZR125 4DL frame to get started.
Bought one from E-bay (with work) and start to mound thinks together.

So my thoughts for this project

Chassis

- TZR125 4DL frame
- RR swingarm with a SZR660 rear wheel
- SZR660 complete frond end

Polyester

- Polyester from the 4DL race cup in France/Italie (to keep it original as possible)

Engine.

- Complete stock engine got one with a very low km, in good condition. (tuning will be a next step)
- Ignition stock (Programmable ignition will be the next step)

Tuning (easy steps to get it started)

- Shortened stock RR exhaust (shortened around 15 a 20mm) to get peek power around 11000rpm
- Move pickup 5 or 6 degrees (to get close to the 14 degrees at around 11000rpm)
- Open carb (depending on witch I can get my hands on a 32mm stock or a 34mm)
- Opening the reed stoppers

Hopefully that will bring the bike to a +/-32HP and will drive nicely.

Will keep you updated

Cheers

Project ist going slowly, but still going.

Have the bike running now, still a lot off work needs to be done before I can drive it.

geheel-er-op.jpg

Next thing to do ist tighten up the wiring. Doesn't sound that difficult but think it will keep me busy for a wile.

See here for what more info

Found something interesting regarding the ypvs servo's

setup-TZR125-ypvs-tester.jpg

http://www.tzr3ma.co...ings-curve.html

There ist a big difference in opening sequence between the 4DL servo and 3MB00 servo.

3MB00

4DL

Who drives a 4DL servo motor on its TZR?

Seems tht I'm starting (always) with the same line. :-)
Project ist going slowly, but its still going.

Currently looking:

geheel-L.jpg

Recently I have put her on the dyno to see where we are.
Must say, like the results.

-6-GRADEN-RUN-S.jpg

Its a good starting point

Look around what I have changed throughout the time in the tzr125 track bike section.

Some examples:

Cheers guys

Hello TZR125 Enthusiasts,

Its bin a while back, since I have updated here, it was a bid quit over the years so I didn't know if my input would even be seen.
But now I see that the forum ist more active, like to continue the quest for a good 30Hp at the rear wheel.

Still have a lot off ideas to get there only the progress ist slow as I'm currently constructing a dyno that takes more time then I thought.

Hope to get it ready end next month.

Where did I ended last year.
Around 28,8 Hp rear wheel.

http://www.tzr3ma.co...vs-control.html

Using a:
-Tuned triple port 3MB cylinder

-O-ring head.
-V-force reedblock
-34mm carb
-performance exhaust
-Free programmable ignition
-And a couple off other small twists.

All can be seen on my site: http://www.tzr3ma.com/index.html

Next experiment will be to see if a shorter/fatter exhaust will bring me in the right direction.

http://www.tzr3ma.co...25-exhaust.html
I need more RPM and a bid more peek power.

Will let you guys know how that goes

Best regards
Louis

Hello TZR enthusiasts

I quote a small peach of my last replay:

I'm currently constructing a dyno that takes more time then I thought.

Hope to get it ready end next month.

Well it turns out that my dyno will be ready at the end off this month (I'm started with painting)

schilder-3.jpg

This project ist taking me way more time then I thought, and gives a huge impact for my TZR projects (witch are currently on hold)
So when this project ist placed back to it final resting place, I can re-organize my workshop and start working out ideas.
Hope to give you soon a update on the TZR125 where it ist standing now with the last changes I made.

Cheers

Louis

Ok that's great, most off the TZR enthusiasts I know live far from me.
Your welcome to visit me if you like, we can talk about the 125's

In the mean time I have placed my dyno to its final place.

plaats-9.jpg
Hope to connect it all next week, and do some test runs.
It will be a great relief if it all works as planned.

Id like to stop b once the dyno ist up and running :-) May that be possible? would be highly appreciated. we could also run some different exhaust and or carb/ airbox setups..
